What is NUM3?
NUM3 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £593.00 per year for num3.
What do I need to do?
* Establish and maintain a legume fallow.
* Sow a seed mix with at least 6 flowering species including legumes.
* Avoid growing deep-rooted legumes like lucerne on areas with historic or archaeological features (identified in your SFI HEFER).
* Once established, do not graze with livestock , do not apply fertilisers or manures , and do not use pesticides (except for weed wiping/spot treating injurious weeds, invasive non-native species, nettles, or bracken).
* Cutting is only permitted to prevent blackgrass from setting seed or to control other annual grass weeds.
