What is WBD8?
WBD8 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £396.00 per year for manage grassland to reduce nutrient levels in groundwater.
What do I need to do?
* Maintain an intact sward throughout the year.
* Cut or graze to achieve a medium sward height (typically 5cm to 15cm).
* Minimize bare ground to ensure soil is covered by vegetation.
* Do not plough, cultivate, or re-seed.
* Do not carry out supplementary feeding of livestock, except for non-energy based mineral blocks.
