RP14: Yard inspection pit
What is RP14?
RP14 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £200.00 per year for yard inspection pit.
What do I need to do?
* Build an inspection pit or catch pit with an internal area of at least 0.36m2 and an opening of at least 600mm in diameter.
* Construct the pit on a concrete base at least 250mm thick with block walls, using solid concrete blocks, engineering brickwork, precast reinforced concrete, or a plastic/uPVC liner with concrete surround.
* Install items according to manufacturer’s instructions , design the cover and frame for appropriate load (e.g., 10 kN/m2 in high traffic areas), and embed it securely.
* If the pit has an open grating, build it at least 10m away from slurry or silage stores.
* For inspection pits, the channel must be benched half round, equal to the largest inlet pipe, with side connections discharging in the direction of flow.
What evidence do I need?
You must keep written support from your Catchment Sensitive Farming adviser and provide this with your application.
You must also keep and provide with your claim:
photographs of the site during the different stages of construction or contracts, invoices or other documents confirming the technical specification for the completed works
photographs of the completed works
any consents or permissions connected with the work
How much does RP14 pay?
RP14 pays £200.00 per year.
