HRW3 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £10 per year for hrw3.

* Ensure an average of at least 1 hedgerow tree per 100m over the total length of hedgerows.

* Achieve this by maintaining existing trees or establishing new ones.

To establish new trees, either select an existing sapling with a single straight stem or plant a new sapling (can use CS Capital Grants TE1 and TE6).

Identify newly established trees (e.g., by tagging) to avoid damage during hedgerow management.

* Do not damage or cut maintained/established hedgerow trees, unless for clear needs like prolonging life, health and safety, or traditional practices (coppicing/pollarding).

You should keep evidence to show what you’ve done to complete this action. This will help if it’s not clear that you’ve completed the action in a way that could reasonably be expected to achieve this action’s aim. You must supply this evidence if we ask for it.

This evidence could include photographs and other documentation to show what you’ve done to complete this action. If you choose to take photographs, read the guidance on how to take photographic evidence (annex A).

HRW3 pays £10 per year.
