WBD2: Manage ditches
What is WBD2?
WBD2 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £4 per year for manage ditches.
What do I need to do?
* Manage the ditch to achieve its aim, including cutting vegetation at the top of the ditch bank in rotation , cutting up to half the length in any year of the 3-year duration.
* Carry out in-channel management (cleaning silt or vegetation, cutting in-channel vegetation) on any section no more than once during the 3-year duration.
* Only manage the ditch during autumn, winter, and early spring (September to late March) to minimise wildlife disturbance.
* Do not re-profile or increase the width or depth of the ditch.
