RP25: Lined biobed with existing washdown area
What is RP25?
RP25 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £66.24 per year for lined biobed with existing washdown area.
What do I need to do?
* Install a biobed either below or above ground, ensuring proper excavation, drainage blocking, side sloping, and the use of an impermeable synthetic liner (at least 1.2mm thick pesticide grade) on a geotextile membrane.
Construct a biobed outlet with a drain, sump, central access tube, and pump to carry treated discharge to a vegetated area or storage tank.
Prepare the biomix using one part peat-free compost, one part topsoil, and two parts straw , allowing it to compost for 30 to 90 days before filling the biobed to an effective depth of 1m.
* Do not treat more than 15,000 litres of pesticide washings (excluding rainfall) in any 12-month period.

What evidence do I need?
You must keep written support from your Catchment Sensitive Farming adviser and provide this with your application.
You must also keep and provide with your claim:
photographs of the site during the different stages of construction or contracts, invoices or other documents confirming the technical specification for the completed works
photographs of the completed works in place and installed
* any consents or permissions connected with the work

RP25 pays £66.24 per year.
