RP27: Sprayer or applicator load and washdown area
What is RP27?
RP27 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £35.86 per year for sprayer or applicator load and washdown area.
What do I need to do?
* Install a concrete loading area that is bunded to contain liquids.
* Install holding tanks and fixed pumps and pipes to remove washings.
* Construct the area with specific materials and dimensions: 140-160mm hardcore , 25mm sand blinding , 1200g damp-proof membrane , and a 150mm reinforced concrete slab with a 1:100 gradient.
* Ensure the concrete bund is at least 100mm high and sealed, with the bunded area sized to the sprayer plus 2m width and 1.5m length.
* Direct the drain with a silt trap to a holding tank (max 1500 litres) made from seamless polyethylene, GRP, or pre-cast concrete, ensuring the whole structure is impermeable.
What evidence do I need?
You must keep written support from your Catchment Sensitive Farming adviser and provide with your application
You must also keep and provide with your claim:
photographs of the site during the different stages of construction, or contracts, invoices or other documents confirming the technical specification for the completed works
* photographs of the completed works in place and installed
