What is RP1?

RP1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £136.95 per year for resurfacing of gateways.

What do I need to do?

* Excavate the full width of the gateway by the full length of the gate (when open at 90 degrees) to a depth of at least 150mm or a naturally occurring hard surface.

* Remove excavated soil from the gateway area and spread it on field track verges (allowing for drainage), ensuring it's not spread on environmental or historic features.

* Overlay the excavated area with a geotextile membrane.

* Fill with aggregate (hardcore) to a consolidated depth of at least 150mm , or until the new gateway is level with the existing track.

* excavate the full width of the gateway by the full length of the gate (when it is open into the field at 90 degrees)

What evidence do I need?

  • You must keep and provide with your claim:

photographs of the completed work

any consents or permissions connected with the work

  • You must also keep and provide on request:

* receipted invoices or bank statements where a receipted invoice is unavailable
