ED1: Educational access
What is ED1?
ED1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £363.00 per year for educational access.
What do I need to do?
* Conduct a site tour lasting at least 2 hours by a suitable staff member or volunteer
* Explain links between farming, conservation, and food production
* Complete the Site visit evaluation form for each claimed visit
* Ensure visitors are school pupils (under 18) or care farming clients
* Do not charge for visits or receive other direct income
What evidence do I need?
Where there is uncertainty about whether the aims of the options have been delivered, we will take into account any records or evidence you may have kept demonstrating delivery of the aims of the option. This will include any steps you’ve taken to follow the recommended management set out above. It is your responsibility to keep such records if you want to rely on these to support your claim.
* Copies of the Site visit evaluation form \- as visits may take place after the annual claim deadline, RPA will accept valid forms until 31 January following the claim year

How much does ED1 pay?
ED1 pays £363.00 per year.
Which land is eligible?
It’s available for Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier and Mid Tier (including WD2: Woodland Improvement).
