CWD3: Manage woodland edges on arable land
What is CWD3?
CWD3 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £428.00 per year for manage woodland edges on arable land.
What do I need to do?
* Allow the woodland edge to grow out as agreed with your Natural England adviser.
* Cut scrub and grass only to maintain the mosaic and control injurious weeds and invasive non-native species, cutting no more than one third of shrubby growth each year.
* Do not apply fertilisers, manures, or supplementary feed.
* Do not cultivate within 6 metres of the woodland edge.
* Do not cut the scrub and grass mosaic during the bird breeding season (typically March to end of August).
What evidence do I need?
You must keep evidence to show what you have done to complete this action. If it’s not clear that you have done this action in a way that could reasonably be expected to achieve its aim, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) may ask for this evidence.
You must supply the evidence if they ask for it, including:
field operations at a land parcel level
associated invoices
* photographs
