The portfolio map

Written by Sven Poppelmann

The portfolio map plots every farm in your organisation on a single satellite map, colour-coded by health status. Use it for a "how are we doing?" snapshot or to triage geographically.

Opening the portfolio map

From the sidebar choose Oversight > Map.

Reading the map

Each farm is shown as a coloured [[company/circle|circle]] on a satellite-streets background:

  • Green - healthy

  • Amber - at risk

  • Red - failing

The size of the [[company/circle|circle]] is proportional to the farm's hectares. Each [[company/circle|circle]] is labelled with the farm name beneath it.

The farm list

A sidebar on the left lists every farm with its name and status colour. Filter or search to narrow the list - the map fits its bounds to whatever is selected. Clicking a farm in the sidebar flies the map to that location.

Farm detail panel

Click any [[company/circle|circle]] to open the right-hand detail panel. It shows the farm metadata, active schemes, overdue item count, management tier and coordinates. Use the next/previous buttons in the panel header to step through farms without closing it.

Map controls

  • Top-right - zoom in/out and reset bearing

  • Bottom-left - scale

  • Auto-fit on first load and whenever the search filter is changed

Tips

  • Use the colour view as a heat map - clusters of red are a sign that a region needs adviser support

  • Combine with the Gap Matrix to understand which scheme is dragging health down in a given farm

  • Bookmark the URL after filtering to share a focused view with a colleague
