TE6: Tree guard (tube and mesh)
What is TE6?
TE6 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £3.95 per year for tree guard (tube and mesh).
What do I need to do?
* Erect tree guards at least 1.5m high made of a tree tube and stake.
* Use chicken wire (with optional barbed wire) to prevent animal damage.
* Design guards to allow access for pruning, mulching, and clearing vegetation.
* Do not fasten guards to the tree or allow them to rub against, constrict, or damage it.

What evidence do I need?
You must keep photographs of the completed work and provide with your claim.
You must also keep and provide on request:
any consents or permissions connected with the work
receipted invoices or bank statements where a receipted invoice is unavailable
* photographs of existing trees to be protected

TE6 pays £3.95 per year.
