What is SPM2?

SPM2 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £92 per year for keep native breeds on grazed habitats supplement (50-80%).

What do I need to do?

  • During each grazing season, at least 50% of total GLU must be pedigree rare native breeds registered in a recognised pedigree breeding book and on the UK native animal breeds at risk (NBAR) list.

  • GLU conversion values:

  • Cattle over 2 years: 1.0 GLU

  • Cattle 6 months to 2 years: 0.6 GLU

  • Heavy sheep: 0.12 GLU
