SM2: Training to control and manage American mink
What is SM2?
SM2 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays per year for training to control and manage american mink.
What do I need to do?
* Find and attend a relevant training course on American mink control and management
* The course must cover mink ecology and behaviour, trap setting and monitoring, record keeping, risk assessments, and humane dispatch
* Provide a Natural England approved species management plan with your application
* Provide at least 2 written quotations for course costs (if possible) and agree the course with Natural England
You must find relevant training courses on how to control and manage American mink. The training course you attend must include:
What evidence do I need?
You must provide evidence that you have completed the training course (for example, a certificate or email from the training provider) when you make your claim for payment.
You must also keep invoices or receipts of training courses you have attended and provide them on request.
