OFA1: Overwinter stubble (organic land)
What is OFA1?
OFA1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £264.00 per year for overwinter stubble (organic land).
What do I need to do?
* After harvest, leave the stubble and establish a green overwinter cover crop (e.g., mustard or fodder radish) covering 10% to 50% of the area.
* Maintain the stubble area and cover crop until around mid-February.
* Do not top, graze, apply fertilisers, manures, lime, or cultivate the stubble area after harvest.

What evidence do I need?
For all the land entered into this action, you must keep:
written evidence that it’s not at risk of soil erosion or surface runoff – you can use the soil management plan produced for CSAM1 or SAM1 to identify this
a valid organic certificate and for it – this must cover at least the full period of this action’s duration
You must also keep other evidence to show what you’ve done to complete this action, such as:
* field operations at a land parcel level and associated invoices
