What is MOR1?

MOR1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £10.60 per year for assess moorland and produce a written record.

What do I need to do?

* Complete a survey of the moorland area, dividing it into 10ha blocks.

* Select a representative sample point within each block.

At each sample point, identify, assess, and record:

Soil types and condition , including peat depth and wetness.

* Vegetation types and condition , including height and structure.

What evidence do I need?

  • You must keep a written record of your:

survey of the moorland

assessment of the environmental benefits the moorland is already providing

* assessment of opportunities to maintain, enhance or restore the moorland to keep providing environmental benefits or provide more

  • You must supply this evidence when we ask for it.

How much does MOR1 pay?

MOR1 pays £10.60 per year.

Which land is eligible?
