What is LV8?

LV8 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £3.31 per year for pipework associated with livestock troughs.

What do I need to do?

* Use medium-density blue polyethylene pipework with an external diameter of at least 25mm

* Ensure all joints are watertight and made of brass or plastic

* Bury pipework below cultivation depth and to at least 600mm (or as determined by local water supplier)

* Cover pipes crossing open ditches with a tubular steel guard or sleeve pipe , laid 600mm below the ditch

* Lay pipes crossing farm tracks on a 75mm sand bed , cover with 100mm sand , then backfill

What evidence do I need?

You must keep and provide with your claim:

photographs of the site during the different stages of construction or contracts, invoices or other documents confirming the technical specification for the completed works

photographs of the completed works in place and installed

You must also keep and provide on request:

any consents or permissions connected with the work
