Accounting: tracking payments and transactions

Written by Sven Poppelmann

The Accounting page connects your bank accounts to Farmwalk so you can view transactions and match incoming payments to scheme income - such as SFI annual payments. It is an optional feature that can be enabled per organisation.

Opening Accounting

Open your organisation and choose Accounting from the sidebar. If you do not see it, the feature may not yet be enabled for your organisation - contact support.

What's inside

The Accounting page has two tabs:

  • Transactions - the full list of transactions across all connected accounts, filterable by account, date and category. Each transaction shows the amount, description, account, date and an assigned category (e.g. scheme income, operating cost).

  • Accounts - your connected bank accounts. Each card shows the account name, provider, balance and the last sync time. Use Sync to refresh transactions on demand.

Connecting a bank account

  1. Go to Accounting > Accounts

  2. Click Add Account

  3. Select your bank provider and follow the authorisation steps

  4. Once connected, transactions are pulled in automatically

Categorising transactions

Transactions are automatically assigned a category based on their description. You can adjust the category on any transaction to match it correctly against your scheme income or farm operating costs.

Tips

  • Sync your accounts regularly during scheme payment windows so you can reconcile income as it arrives

  • Use the category filter on the Transactions tab to isolate scheme payments quickly

  • If Accounting is not visible, ask your organisation owner to enable it
