AI document review

Written by Sven Poppelmann

AI Document Review reads the document you're editing and tells you whether it covers what it should. Use it for risk assessments, SOPs and any compliance document where missing sections would be a problem in an audit.

Opening AI Review

Open a document and switch to the editor. In the right-hand sidebar you'll see the AI Review section. Click AI Review to launch the review dialog.

Reading the result

The sidebar shows two pieces of information once a review has run:

  • Score - a numeric quality score

  • Status - Compliant, Needs Work or Non-Compliant

Click View Results to see the detailed feedback - what is present, what is missing and which sections need stronger evidence.

Iterating

  1. Read the results and update the document directly in the editor

  2. Save (auto-save kicks in after 5 seconds; Cmd+S forces it)

  3. Re-run the review

  4. Repeat until the status reaches Compliant

Publishing

Once you're happy, click Publish. The published version is stored in the vault as a PDF and the document state moves from Draft to Published with an incremented version number.

When to use it

  • Drafting a new SOP from scratch

  • Updating a risk assessment ahead of an audit

  • Reviewing inherited documents that may not match current standards

Tips

  • AI Review is a second pair of eyes, not a replacement for your judgement - always check its suggestions

  • Aim for Compliant before publishing, but be aware that some sections (e.g. site-specific hazards) need human input that the AI cannot infer

  • Don't rely on AI Review alone for regulated documents - have them signed off by the responsible person before publishing
