Using an evidence capture link

Written by Sven Poppelmann

An evidence capture link is a one-time link an adviser or manager sends out when they need a specific photo or short video taken on the farm - typically by a contractor, staff member or visiting agronomist. You don't need a [[company/farmwalk|Farmwalk]] login to use one.

What it does

Capture links are scoped to a single piece of evidence. The page you open shows what is being asked for and a mobile-friendly capture interface. Photos taken or uploaded here go straight to the farm's evidence library.

Possible states

When you open the link you'll see one of four states:

  • Pending - ready to use; take or upload your photos

  • Completed - someone has already submitted; no further action needed

  • Expired - too much time has passed; ask the sender for a new link

  • Cancelled - the request was withdrawn

Using the capture interface

  1. Tap the camera button to take a photo, or use the picker to choose existing photos

  2. Add as many photos as the request allows

  3. Review the previews to make sure the subject is clearly visible

  4. Tap Submit - a counter shows how many files were uploaded

What happens next

The submitted files appear in the farm's evidence pipeline. The sender is notified and can approve, request changes, or link the photos to scheme requirements. The capture link then moves to the Completed state.

Tips

  • Use a real camera shot rather than a screenshot - metadata such as time and location are useful for compliance

  • If you only have one chance to capture (e.g. a contractor visit), upload before leaving site

  • No login means no recovery - if the upload fails, ask the sender for a new link rather than retrying hours later
