What is WN1?
WN1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £19.06 per year for grip blocking drainage channels.
What do I need to do?
* Block grips or drainage channels as agreed with your Natural England adviser or as set out in your implementation plan/feasibility study.
* Inspect all grips, drains, and blocks annually to ensure no breaches, proper water flow, and no water flowing between dams except natural peak surface water.
* Take photographs and record inspections , agreeing details with your Natural England adviser.
* Avoid damaging surface vegetation, exposing bare soil or peat, or establishing linear routes.

You must keep photographs of the completed work and provide them with your claim.
You must keep and provide on request :
any consents or permissions connected with the work
receipted invoices or bank statements where a receipted invoice is unavailable
* a copy of the implementation plan or feasibility study (where applicable)
