What is SP3?

SP3 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £232 per year for bracken control supplement.

What do I need to do?

* Control bracken to reduce cover to a set proportion by a specific date

* If using chemical control, do so only on specifically identified areas

* Implement temporary grazing controls to protect regenerating vegetation

* Graze to break up litter beds and damage young fronds for additional control

* Control any re-infestation throughout the agreement term

What evidence do I need?

  • Agreement holders will need to keep the following records and supply them on request:

stock records to show grazing activity on parcels

consents or permissions connected with this work

* field operations at the parcel level, including associated invoices

  • On your annual claim you will be asked to declare that you haven’t carried out any activities prohibited by the option requirements.

How much does SP3 pay?

SP3 pays £232 per year.

Which land is eligible?

Available for Higher Tier Whole and part-parcel Only in combination with a land management option.
