OR1: Organic conversion – improved permanent grassland
What is OR1?
OR1 is an action under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) scheme. It pays £187 per year for organic conversion – improved permanent grassland.
What do I need to do?
* Follow Organic standards from the start of organic conversion to the end of the agreement, using the conversion plan agreed with an organic control body.
* Ensure all land completes conversion and is registered as ‘fully organic’ before the end of the agreement.
What evidence do I need?
Where there is uncertainty about whether the aims of the options have been delivered, we will take into account any records or evidence you may have kept demonstrating delivery of the aims of the option. This will include any steps you’ve taken to follow the recommended management set out above. It’s your responsibility to keep such records if you want to rely on these to support your claim.
A copy of the conversion plan agreed with the organic control body
A fully completed viability plan and evidence land is improved permanent grassland or rough grazing
If you have undertaken a viability assessment with your application, you must start your organic conversion process and submit a copy of the conversion plan (agreed with the organic control body) if requested. You will need to supply a valid organic certificate and for all the parcels entered into this option on your annual payment claim if requested.
