Setting up your CS agreement
Navigate to Schemes and select Add New Scheme
Choose Countryside Stewardship (CS)
Enter your agreement number and validity dates
Add your selected options (e.g., AB1, GS4, SW6)
CS option types
CS options fall into different categories:
Arable options - AB1 (nectar flower mix), AB8 (flower rich margins)
Grassland options - GS4 (legume rich swards), GS2 (permanent grassland low inputs)
Water options - SW1 (riparian management), SW6 (winter cover crops)
Historic options - SP5 (supplementary feeding), HS2 (taking historic environment into account)
Tree/woodland options - WD1 (woodland improvement), WD2 (woodland creation)
Linking options to parcels
Each CS option must be assigned to specific parcels
Select the option and click Assign to Parcels
Choose the relevant land areas from your map
Ensure total areas match your CS application
Consider overlapping options on the same parcel
CS evidence requirements
Different option types require different evidence:
Management evidence - Photos and records of prescribed management
Input restrictions - Records showing compliance with input limits
Timing evidence - Documentation of work carried out in required periods
Establishment evidence - Proof of successful establishment for new features
Monitoring and inspection preparation
Keep detailed records of all management activities
Photograph important management events (cutting, grazing, establishment)
Maintain input records (fertilizer, pesticide applications)
Document any changes to management or circumstances
